- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are different price structures for oral interpretation and for written translation. Translation can be priced per word or per page, and normally it is necessary to see the original document prior to being able to quote. Interpreting is priced per hour, and normally interpreters also charge for travel time and mileage to the client's location.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I determine the specific needs of the customer, and then determine if I am qualified to meet those needs. I offer references to all of my potential customers, so they can rest assured they are hiring an experienced professional.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have both a Master's Degree in Spanish Language and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish, Translation and Business. I have been teaching Spanish at the University level for over 15 years. I am certified by ACTFL (the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) as an Oral Proficiency Interview Tester and Rater, and my Spanish oral proficiency level is certified at Advanced High.
