I asked Roman to patch a small corner of the wall in the bathroom where water was leaking between the shower glass door, causing some erosion to the paint. It took him about 1.5 hours, possibly because he also removed two tiles. Despite the longer duration, I assumed he was meticulous and would do a good job. Initially, the handyman in my building quoted $70 and claimed he could complete the task within 30 minutes, but he was unavailable for a week. Consequently, I had to seek an alternative, leading to Roman's involvement. However, when Roman requested a payment of $150, I was taken aback but ultimately agreed, considering his punctuality and completion of the work. To my surprise, Roman later informed me that he needed to return the next day to paint the repaired corner and requested an additional $80. At this point, it became evident that he might be attempting to take advantage of my perceived lack of knowledge about the job's actual cost. Realizing this, I responded politely, expressing that I had already paid a fair amount for the work. In conclusion, it became apparent that I could have undertaken the job myself in approximately one hour, spending only $20 on a fast-dry mold-killing primer.

Unfortunately I can’t attach our chat here but for the people who read it long story short: I was hired to replace the door lock, when arrived for work been told that her husband just replaced it and they need help with the wall and falling off tiles in bathroom and some work with laminate in another room. Tiles being attached, drywall repaired with plaster, laminate holes filled with repair kit. Work took 2 hours. Sent quote for this work to client and explained that the wall needs to be painted once plaster is dry. Client asked to paint it so I came back next day for that. But never get paid for the second visit. Good luck Kristina, you might need it with your approach to the people.
