- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have more than ten years of experience transcribing audio in a variety of settings. First, as a freelance writer conducting interviews of my own for story assignments and transcribing them all. Second, as an administrative assistant at a transcription service in Boston, transcribing lengthy meetings and as a transcriptionist for a retail-based business. My specialty is transcribing interviews and those are the types of assignments I prefer. My typing skills have been honed through years of meeting deadlines in high-performance environments and the speed has been tested consistently at the 80-85 wpm range. I am also a pianist, so manual dexterity is a definite plus to production. Furthermore, I bring a high level of proofreading skills to bear on the job from my work as a journalist producing articles in which accuracy is imperative.
