- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tax Preparation services are based upon the form(s) required and that information is included with the Income Tax Preparation Disclosure Form required by the City of Chicago. My fees are also available on my website. For hourly work such as bookkeeping, detailed data entry and consulting, I charge an hourly fee that is also on the Disclosure Form
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Through Thumbtack.com, I review requests for services and if we seem to be a match, I'll submit a quote. Normally I ask for additional information to make sure how much any engagement will cost. I'll also give you a Consumer Bill of Rights for Tax Preparation Services as well as an Income Tax Preparation Disclosure Form, as required by the City of Chicago.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every year, I'm required to take a certain number of hours of CPE and I take webinars, seminars, attend peer-to-peer events as well as online courses. Since I enjoy reading and learning, I've never had a problem reaching my CPE goals and normally take a few courses in other topics that I enjoy. I passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam in 1989 and hold a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
