FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My legal fees for bankruptcy services are generally charged on a flat fee basis. More information on my fees can be found on my website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I can offer you a free initial consultation, usually conducted over the telephone, to listen to your concerns and determine whether bankruptcy may be a solution for your debt problems. If it looks like bankruptcy may be a good option for you and you want to retain me, I will then conduct an in-depth analysis of your financial situation by asking you detailed questions and reviewing your household budget, assets, and debts. I will then recommend your best course of action, which may include a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing, debt settlement, debt collection defense litigation, or even doing nothing (in the appropriate circumstances). Once a course of action is agreed upon, I will then commit my best efforts to help you get relief from your debt burdens.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Northwestern University School of Law, which was ranked #11 in the country by US News & World Reports when I enrolled in 1995. I have completed numerous continuing legal education courses on consumer bankruptcy law, including seminars presented by the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, of which I am a member. I stay abreast of changes in the law by reading new cases, reviewing updates to relevant statutes, court rules, and court forms, and consuming a variety of bankruptcy-related publications.
