Ryan at NBFC is terrific to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone regardless of their financial situation! He is very knowledgeable and does a great job of explaining complex financial concepts in simple terms. He helped me come up with a plan to save for a down payment on a home while also saving for retirement. He also helped me with my investment portfolio and maximizing tax incentives. I'm a current client, and so far satisfied. I've worked with financial advisers to set up individual accounts in the past, but this is my first time having a dedicated adviser. With that being said, I didn't complete know what to expect, but have comfortable in every step taken as I've been educated and consulted on my options and allowed to time to weigh the right choice for me. I cannot say enough good things here. It’s not very often that you find somebody that is so honest and straightforward, especially in the investment world. You’re always told the general ideas to achieve your financial and retirement goals, “spend less and save more”. That’s like asking for directions to New York from England and only being told to row West. Ryan really gives you help specific to your situation and goals, and helps iron out the details. I am late 20's graduate with about 55k in total debt(school, car, etc.) and I was paying above the monthly on each loan I had, not considering each loan individually. I make about 60k per year and I thought I was effective on paying out my loans, which I quickly came to find out was not correct. Before I talked to Ryan I was at a point where I looked at the total number of which I owed, and was fully prepared to be paying loans through my 30's and potentially into my 40s, it was just something I had accepted. I had known Ryan for a number of years with being friends of their family, he's honestly one of the more intelligent people I have come across so when I found out he was going to be starting his own financial consulting company, I was immediately interested in learning more. After I provided Ryan with all of my information he was able to come back with a plan that would have me debt free in less than 5 years, which I never imagined could be the case for me. The ability to analyze my debt, figure out where I'm losing the most money to interest, and align my expenses/payments with my life goals was something I greatly appreciated and value to this day. Being able to start a family or buy a house debt free isn't something many people are able to say that can do these days, but that opportunity is now possible for me. He's diligent, organized, competitive, and more than anything a great people person who's going to give you the answers you need to hear so that you can be successful in plotting your future financial well being. I appreciate his work and his passion for wanting not only himself, but the people around him, to be successful. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Unlike most financial advisors, I don't make any money from commissions or fees from other companies which means my only loyalty is to you as a client. My fees vary based on your specific needs, so we'll need to chat on the phone for a bit so I can work up an accurate estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start by comparing your financial circumstances with the broader U.S. economy so that you can have a clearer perspective about how your finances fit into the bigger picture. Then I'll work to understand your priorities and goals so I can help you build a financial plan that's right for you. After we establish a plan, I'll keep in touch with regular check-up calls to track your progress and make adjustments to your financial plan based on life's unexpected changes.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I began studying personal finance, economics, and financial planning during The Great Recession and became a professional financial advisor in 2012. In 2018, I left my position as a commissioned salesperson and opened No Bull Financial Consulting in order to serve clients without conflicts of interest. I am a Registered Investment Advisor helping individuals with investing and retirement planning (Series 6, 63, and 65 investment designations through FINRA), and I help clients understand their benefits programs and private insurance options as well (insurance licenses for life, health, annuities, variable contracts, property, and casualty insurance).
