- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to keep my fees affordable. There is a filing fee that must be paid to the court. For chapter 7(fresh start bankruptcy) it is currently $338.00. I included the court fee in my quote. You pay me one flat fee. The only additional cost is for a mandatory pre filing qualification and post filing education course which together is about $50 extra.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I have a consultation on the phone to get an idea what is going on and issues that need to be addressed. Then I arrange a time to meet with the client and ask many necessary questions regarding the client’s income and expenses and assets and liabilities (debts). I explain everything as I go along and answer any questions the client may have. Since Covid quarantine the bankruptcy trustees are holding court remotely on zoom. Now you have the option of meeting with me in person or via zoom.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my J.D. from DePaul University. I’ve been filling bankruptcy cases for approximately 25 years. There always changes in the law a good attorney must keep up with them.
