I have had the benefit of serving my 4 year apprenticeship through the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union, Local 5 in Chicago, and I worked for the largest historic plaster restoration company in the country as a Plaster Superintendent.
I love the feeling of accomplishment that each individual job gives me when It is complete and ready for paint.

We had a big hole in our plaster wall from repairing a leak. This was a relatively small project, and Mike did a great job. He was on time, friendly, professional, and clearly skilled at what he does. All that’s left for us to do is caulk and paint.

Great guy! Very professional! Had plaster work done on a unit and my house is over 115 years old. Came out great! If I knew it would look so good I could have charged more rent. If you don't use Mike u have to takes chanes on the rest!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally I try to charge on a "per day" basis. If there are two men on a job for one day, then that is considered "2 man days" then material is figured out and added in. I never charge for estimates and I always want my clients happy so that they will refer me to a friend.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started plastering when I was fresh out of high school and the first job I worked on was for the ambassador of Switzerland in a high rise condo on East Lake Shore Drive. It was the largest condo I ever saw, at that point in my life and I loved going to work and learning something new every day.
