I feel so lucky that I've been able to use photography for the past ten years to help tell so many different people's stories. Whether it is weddings, family, portraits, headshots, or interiors, my job is to create an image that reflects who and what you are. For lifestyle, weddings and family my style is very documentary, in the moment. I love working with people and capturing those special vignettes that everyone can later look at and feel like they see their true authentic selves shining through. Overall, my job is to make this experience as comfortable and seamless (and enjoyable) as possible.

Layne did a family/engagement shoot for us and we couldn't be happier with the results. We have a 16 month old who did not make it easy on Layne, but she did a great job of capturing some wonderful moments. She was also super responsive before the shoot and flexible with scheduling. We were nervous about doing a shoot, but Layne quickly helped us get comfortable with being in front of the camera and she also did great keeping our little guy's attention. She was quick with the edits and they looked lovely. We highly recommend Layne for anyone looking for a family shoot!

Layne is absolutely amazing! My partner and I decided to elope to Chicago and wanted pictures from the day. We chose Layne because we liked her photographic style, editing, her responsiveness to communications and her price.
She was extremely easy to work with, communicating the perfect amount. During an initial video chat with Layne, we immediately felt comfortable as we discussed our ideas and outlined the wedding day.
We married at the Museum of Science and Technology and met Layne that morning. She is extremely nice, outgoing, and easy to work with. Layne captured the magic of that day perfectly, both inside and outside the museum. We are very happy with the results!!! 5+++ Stars!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have set basic pricing, but am always open to discussing the details with a client. You're paying for the photoshoot, the product, the time as well as an open dialogue with me. In between booking and the shoot, I am here for consultation. Happy to help!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting your photos taken can be a vulnerable and at times strange experience. It's MY job to make you feel as comfortable as possible so we can lean into the photos, have fun, and get a result that feels and looks like you. I start off by opening a conversation with the client where they feel empowered and heard. From there we build the experience together. I am there to guide but also to listen and we get the photos and experience you want.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a photography major at Indiana University (go Hoosiers!) before I moved to Chicago to pursue comedy and photo. I've been working consistently in photo here since 2012. First with a company photographing families and newborns, then independently.
