Most often, the sites/apps we build for our clients are their main product and revenue source. Or they're companies that want to streamline outdated processes of their business. They are tools, widgets, interactions, and dashboards. We love user registration and integrating new technologies. If its a cool idea, we're all over it.

Be careful when comparing web developers and pricing for web/app dev services. Everyone does things differently and the cheaper price is not always a good thing.
