FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask a lot of questions. Make them walk you through the project step-by-step. Look at their LinkedIn profile and Google their work.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
One analogy I always give is that of an oil change. It's a pretty simple thing: you unscrew a cap, drain, and dump another can in. But--you never do this yourself. Why? There are crucial elements that are easy to screw up and we're talking about screwing up a major investment, your car. PR and marketing is like that, too. Yes, some parts of it are easy. You can write a release about a new hire. You can write a blog post. But--there are elements of it that can really screw up the major investment you've made in your business. So, consult a professional. It doesn't have to be expensive. Just like an oil change shouldn't cost $1,000--you don't have to pay $1,000s for marketing to get it done well.
