Introduction: I ask my clients questions about how they think they learn. Do they like worksheets? Are they a visual learner, a reader? Do they prefer an apple computer? These all help me determine which style of curriculum to start out with for them. I never decide on a particular course right away. They try a course for free and we see if it is working. Sometimes we change it, and other times we come up with a customized version that works for them. We also see what motivates them the most.
It is so rewarding to watch people discover the joy of beautiful sound. I tell them it is not the most complicated piece that sounds beautiful, it is how you play the piece. A simple, emotionally driven piece played beautifully is very powerful. I am brought to tears often when my clients achieve this.
