FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a nominal sitting fee for my time. The amount depends on what type of occasion it is and how long I'll spend. Obviously a wedding will be more than a child's first birthday. Once the photos are done and edited they are put up on my site. If you want them password protected so others can't see them, that's an option. Once they're up you purchase your photos from my site and can check the prices anytime by going to the site, selecting a photo (any one will do) and then choosing the item you'd like to purchase. The prices are all right there!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally, I want to get to know you and understand why you want the photos you want. Are they for display? Do you want an album? Are they moments that you'll never have the chance to replace or replicate? All of these questions are important. Ultimately, I want us to work together to make this a great shoot!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spend a great deal of time researching, training and learning. I look at photography tutorials and tips, read photography magazines and constantly improve my skills. Once I know what the client is looking for, I do additional research based on what I know of them. Photography angles, lighting, depth of field, perspective, all of these things are important and can change from shoot to shoot. I come to the shoot having already spent several hours preparing.
