FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The method for charging my client is in sync with the scope of the project. If it's residential and ongoing, I charge hourly with a retainer (deposit) and regular billing. If it'sn office or other commercial project, I often determine a set fee which is paid in increments.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first meeting is not chrged, so that we can converse about he scope of the project and I can explain my fees. Should this be a one-time consultation and not an interview (from both sides!), a set fee or hourly rate will be discussed beforehand.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take Continuing Education all the time to keep up my Professional status with ASID (American Soc. of Interior Designers) -- I have been a Professional Member since my 20's. Before taking tha ASID exam I passed the NCIDQ exam which is a qualifying exam for Professional ASID status and to have made me eligible to be a Registered Interior Designer in Illinois. Without this exam, neither status can be confirmed for anyone.
