- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's always best to reach out so that we can discuss your project. I provide average pricing or 'starting from' prices here and on my website, but every individual shoot is so unique! Standard prices are not usually good reflection of what a real quote, after some chatting, will be. In general, things that will swing a quote up or even down from 'standard' are: distance of location vs in my own studio, the length of time shooting (wardrobe, location and set changes will greatly affect this), prop curation, set build/design, number of final edits, styling (hair/makeup/wardrobe), the number of final edits needed, and supplementary products like prints/books/cards/etc. Let's chat, discuss your goals, and get together a custom proposal!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to spend some time speaking with and getting to know my clients. This is so important to me in the creative planning process in order to align our visions, ultimately capturing photographs with depth and direction that mean and portray so much more. Additionally, it will makes the session comfortable and fun, as our familiarity can effectively in calm any anxieties about 'posing' or worries about the direction of the shoot and the end product. Most people are not naturally comfortable in front of a camera and it helps a lot when there is a trusting relationship in place.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background is in Engineering (technical design) and Fine Arts (painting). I've always had a love for photography as a medium for producing art pieces. After having children, of which I now have 3, photography gained a new and deeper aspect- creating a collection of artful heirlooms and keepsakes for my family. A beautiful journal of visual entries chronicling life itself.
