I started my ballroom dance lessons a few weeks ago with Aleks and i absolutely love it. He's a fantastic dancer , very passionate about his work which makes him a great teacher. He's very patient with me cause I'm a perfectionist and i get frustrated sometimes. We started with the viennese walts, cha cha and rumba (for now) and i can't decide which dance is my favorite cause i love all of them. 🙈 I definitely recommend Aleks if you want to find your inner dancer or improve your technique or just have some fun. 👍👍👍👍👍

Excellent intro lesson! Olga was fun, funny, and a great teacher for a couple of beginners. And I was super-impressed with how responsive they were - even got a same-day lesson. Great start to my dancing... “career” :)

Olga was our instructor. She was very punctual and made the most of the space provided (Olga came to us for our lesson). Olga was great teaching us our mother-son dance. When one of us wasn’t doing something well, she was very sweet in how she gave correction. Most of all, she made the lesson very enjoyable and productive.

It's becoming clear to me I won't ever be Ginger Rogers--but with Aleksandar Bonev of North Shore Ballroom Dance Society that is just fine: He not only greets you personally at the door with water, and never rushes you out, even if it's over time, he is both a master teacher, patiently showing an practicing the steps over and over, as many times as is needed, but patient and sensitive to what you own individual challenges are. You feel that it's okay to be imperfect in his presence, and he is willing to work with you not just on the steps of the various dances, but also in terms of scheduling and finances. He is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Aleks is extremely passionate about the art of dance and it's very apparent that he loves to share his joy and knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. Wether you want to learn to be the hit of a nightclub, or you want to take it to a competition level, he will cater to what your needs and desires are, and he is capable of teaching all styles and levels. He makes you feel very comfortable no matter what level you're at and that was extremely important to me when searching for an instructor/coach. I feel a spark has been ignited within, I haven't had this much fun in years and I look forward to every class!!!

Aleksandar Bonev is a Professional dancer, fully certified instructors and choreographers with over 24 years of training and over 12 years of teaching experience.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Aleksandar has decided to bring their knowledge, experience, and passion of dance to the United States in 2011. They formed North Shore Dance Society in 2013 after having spent several years teaching and training at several franchised studios in Chicago.
