Benjamin has experience counseling in both the clinical in-patient setting and the outpatient setting with individuals, adolescent to older adult, struggling with a broad range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, and self-harm. Benjamin is especially well-versed in work with adolescents, specifically teenage males with ADHD, drug abuse, oppositional behavior, anger/aggression, under achievement, social skills, and adjustment issues. The therapeutic approach that Benjamin utilizes with clients incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy. He believes in the importance of a client-therapist relationship that is above all comfortable and built on trust to best facilitate growth in the client through direct, open, and honest communication.
