Fire It Up Chimney is a small family-owned business with just as much experience as the big companies. Our technicians have over 25 years of experience and are also skilled masons. We are a dedicated, no-nonsense team and don't just put in our time at work, we put in our all, every time. Although we are new to Thumbtack, our listing on Yelp carries a 5 star overall rating with almost a hundred reviews from happy customers. We work hard to earn your business. Don't forget about our no mess guarantee! What to expect with us: One of the first things we do before we start is put down a drop cloth to keep your home clean. After we've thoroughly cleaned and inspected the inside of your fireplace, we then check out the condition of the outside of the chimney as part of our 15-point safety inspection. If we find anything wrong while we are on the roof, we will take pictures to show you. We will then go over an estimate with you to determine whether you'd like to proceed with the recommended repairs. Most repairs can be made the same day unless we need to special order some parts. We offer free estimates. We accept cash, checks, credit and debit. Our customers say that we are courteous, prompt, polite, fair, thorough and clean!See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Can you put a fireplace in a house that doesn't have one?

Yes, you can often put a fireplace in a house that doesn’t have one. An exception to this is if your house doesn’t have a safe place for a fireplace, or if your city or town doesn’t allow fireplaces (or specific types of fireplaces).

How much does it cost to install a fireplace?

The average cost to install a fireplace in your home is roughly $400, though some professionals charge as much as $1,500 for fireplace and chimney installation. The type of fireplace you want (gas-burning, wood-burning, electric, etc.) will impact your cost. Let a fireplace installation professional know what type of fireplace you want to install and ask for a free cost estimate.

Can you install a fireplace without a chimney?

Yes, you can consider installing a ventless gas fireplace, which doesn’t require a chimney or flues. However, you’ll need to make sure these are allowed where you live. Contact fireplace installation pros near you to find out if a ventless fireplace is right for you and (if so) get free cost estimates.

Does a fireplace add value to a house?

A fireplace may or may not add value to your house — it depends on the prospective homeowner and the trends in your real estate market. Many people find fireplaces desirable, but you’ll need to talk to your real estate agent (or an expert) to find out if homebuyers in your area will pay more for a fireplace or if you’ll recoup the costs.
