Karen Riscos' Graphic Design

Introduction: During recent years, I have had the chance to hone my design capabilities in different ways. While working towards a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, I gained hands-on experience as a freelance designer. Among my clients are local Aurora businesses and the Dieterich Elementary School in Aurora, Illinois. I created designs for their multiple fund-raisers and promotions ranging from ads to business cards. In these projects, I have worked with Mac OS X, as well as Windows. In addition, I have in-depth knowledge of top design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Using these programs, I created a poster to advertise a winter course at my university, North Central College, and I worked closely with the professor to achieve the desired product. I have learned that good communication and listening skills are essential for a graphic designer, as the customer's needs and concerns come first.
