We needed our deck pressure washed, sanded, and stained. I received several quotes from numerous companies and contractors; most of them were overpriced and some just simply ridiculous. When Tom came over to assess the work that would need to be done he offered a value added quote. The price was fair for the work that he offered. He doesn't spray the stain on in fact he hand brushed most of the deck, and with two coats. You don't see that too often nowadays. I won't go into much detail about it or give it all away but I can say he is someone who is passionate about his work and he takes the time and preparation needed to make sure the work is done right and looks good. He is easy to reach and always follows up in regards to communication. You can call him, text him, email him, and if he can't find you he will make sure you get his message. In addition, Tom has a good sense of humor which we appreciated as it made the whole process of hiring a stranger a bit more comforting. He was prompt to provide a copy of his insurance and references. The project took longer than expected however it wasn't his fault the weather has been fairly wetter and colder this summer than the average. I also came home one evening to find that he fixed some other minor things around the backyard. Prior to Tom, our deck looked like it was 30 years old and had no maintenance done to it since it was erected. Now our deck looks like it came out of a Pinterest picture. Everyone who has came over to see it was amazed at the transformation. Great job Tom! We will be sure to keep you in the loop as we quote out other jobs for our home!

Tom was AMAZING in helping us with our deck repair and restaining. He is truly a perfectionist and has an eye for detail. He made great -- and cost effective -- suggestions that someone of lay-experience wouldn't even dream about. He came up with creative, workable solutions for pest control, lighting, asthetics, and long-term wear-and-tear. What a neat guy. His communication with us was great and we enjoyed having him around. I'm happy to recommend him and will use again if HIS time ever permits.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My basic pricing is very simple, but what the customer should understand is that every job has it's own unique logistical challenges, so that often times it is unfair to both parties to expect a blind price quote, without some sort of visual specifics, or material matches for repair. It is always best to do a site visit in some manner, even photos can help.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i do follow thru in continuing education, just lately I finished up a 10 hr OSHA safety class, followed by a 30 hr OSHA safety class. I am planning on finishing up a realtor licensing course and a home inspections class so as to expand my horizons.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I just fell in love with the sense of satifaction from seeing what I had done and the smile of happiness and understanding from the customer.
