About this pro

How does your service stand out?

I provide personal service, building websites that reflect the personality of the owner. I also am now building fully responsive websites by default. What that means is the websites display on any size device from a desktop with a 27" monitor down to a smartphone with a 2 inch display. I-phone, Android, pads, tablets laptops all display the sites I design without having to zoom in and out to navigate. I also design most sites using a product called Drupal. It provides a platform that allows the site owner to change easily without having to call me whenever they have a new idea or service if they so choose. As easy as changing your Facebook page. I also provide training for those who have never had a Facebook page and don't know their way around a computer. And for those who couldn't be bothered, I also provide good old website maintenance, adding changing or deleting pages, pictures, dates, prices etc.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I love working with people. I also like to take a concept and turn it into a website, Business or personal, it doesn't matter.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field? A. Yes, I am always learning. That is one reason I can now offer the mobile ready websites that used to cost more. I also use an open source design platform because I studied the options and found that the open-source (free) products were as good or better than the commercial products. There are lots of videos and articles which teach about the tools of the trade. In my case html, css, php, sql, ajax, and java script to name a few. MIT, Harvard and other universities also have classes on-line at no cost. They are available to anyone. Look up massive open online courses (mooc) Stanford University and opencourseware (ocw) Massechusettes Institute of Technology . You will be surprised at the variety of college level courses available.
