FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I give clients a choice, so they can pick the level that fits their budget. There is a basic package, an all inclusive package, and a all inclusive deluxe package. Clients like the opportunity to pick the package that fits them best. I often customize the packages to fit individual client based on their needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! First: I read on average 2 business books a month, plus I'm always looking at the current research in the communication field. I also write business articles for publication in my field every month. Second: I continually conduct organizational research. Right now I've been gathering information on organizational motivation and accountability issues. Lastly: I attend conferences and business meetings in my field- every month. Networking in the field helps me to stay on top of my game. I then bring all this information to my clients. My talks and workshops are always being updated with current information.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
First, I had a college prof that pushed me into competitive speaking. I started winning event after event. I knew I liked public speaking, what I didn't know until I won all those first place awards, is that I was really good at it. 2) I was a corporate trainer for years, my class participants really pushed me into the world for professional speaking. Their comments that I was "funny, dynamic, passionate, and the best they have ever heard" meant a lot. There was one time when I was leaving CA to move to Chgo and I kept getting calls to please teach one more class. So on my last day of work I arranged a 1/2 day class on change. I expected maybe 20 people, what I didn't expect is that the room would be standing room only. People drove or flew in from all parts of the state to hear me speak and teach one last time. That is when I knew, I had made the right choice.
