EDIT: After posting this review, Prime Remodeler took the time to contact me to explain the situation. They let me know how a typical quote is supposed to go, and they seemed very dismayed by how my own experience went with their representative. They were wonderful on the phone, just as professional as every other time I had talked to them. They assured me that, if given the chance to do another quote with us, they would do their best to explain everything and give us a true representation of what business with them should look like. I am changing my review to 4 stars thanks to their reassurances, explanation, and great phone based customer care. Thank you Prime Remodeler!I called Prime Remodeler to give us a quote on a house we just purchased for siding. They were very pleasant on the phone for scheduling a time. They called the day of the appointment to see if we could push back the time by an extra hour, which was fine. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice. The other gentleman that came to our property to do a siding quote, however, was a bit of a different story. I greeted him, told him my name, asked how he was doing. He did not introduce himself to me. He said "So, what is going on with the house?" I wasn't completely sure what he was asking, but I explained we were hoping to get a quote for siding. We were thinking dark gray vinyl siding, and some stone around the garage depending on the price for the stone front. We mostly just wanted to do simple siding for the house. Nothing too fancy. I told him I don't really know anything about this process, so I was not sure what information he needed. He didn't talk throughout all of this. When I stopped talking, unsure what else to say, he just said "Okay, well I will need 10 minutes to measure."I said "Sounds good! Whatever you need. Do I stay out here with you, or just wait?"He told me I could just wait for him to finish up. No big deal. Again, I was unsure how the process would go or what was needed from me.10 minutes later, he knocked on the door, and wrote a price of $30,000-32,000 for the siding job on a card. I did not get color samples, no explanation for what all would need done or what was included in the $30,000 price tag, I didn't see that he even took pictures of the house. He then left.At first, I figured that maybe this is just how quotes are supposed to go for house projects. Maybe I wasn't supposed to get any information on what would need done, types of siding, color, sun defense upgrades, etc.I then had two more Fort Wayne siding companies come out. Each of them spent over an hour with me for their quotes. They gave me examples of other houses they had done. One of them even had a virtual walk through of color options and other cosmetic upgrades. They each gave me color samples. They explained the types of siding, shakes, stone front options. They each told me my options for new gutters, shutters around the windows, fascia wraps, columns, etc... and their quote was easily HALF of what I was given from Prime Remodeler. The difference between my experience with Prime Remodeler and the other companies was night and day different and showed me just how poor the effort was by Prime Remodeler. I am giving 2 stars simply because the customer service part of a company is half of what a company does. I can't give a review of the actual work itself, but the process and professionality to get there is very lackluster compared to what you can get from other companies in Fort Wayne.

Had an estimate done on July 1 for a french door install. Paid a $2500 deposit to Cory. 9 weeks later and I am just now getting a refund, and no work was ever done. Work was said to begin in 3 weeks time (from July 1), and take 1-3 days to complete. A month passed and I had a supposed scheduled work date. No one came, no one called. Another month passes and no one is returning my phone calls. I had to track the owner down on Facebook to get this resolved. Which he did. Still, my experience consists of getting an estimate, paying 2500, no one showing up, and eventually no one returning my calls. Then having to track the owner down, find out that my door was never even ordered, and then having to get refunded. After talking to the owner is still took 3 days to get refund. And at the end of it all, I still need a new french door installed. The reasoning from the company owner I received, was that I was never scheduled due to a computer error not scheduling me. But I was in constant contact with Cory up until he stopped returning my calls. I even went down to the office. And nothing happened.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our pricing is the absolute best value in our market. For the quality of installation and materials we have carefully selected to install, nobody offers a competitive price.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find a contractor you can trust. If they are offering a great product, you trust them to do a great installation, and they are offering you a fair price, hire them. The companies that cut the most corners are the ones trying to be lowest bidder. There is a tremendous amount of value in having the work done right above all else.
