Introduction: I strive to provide the environment and atmosphere that every event/party needs. I can cover about any genre, Current Top 40 Pop and Country, 70s and 80s Classic Rock, 90s Alt, Old School Hip Hop, Oldies from the 50s and forward. everything from The Beatles to Metallica. Over 45,000 files in my library at last count. Your event can be, and by all means should be, customized to exactly what you and your guests are wanting. As a Live musician for the greater part of my life, music vibe just comes naturally to me. I love seeing the clients and their guests having fun. Nothing like cueing the next song and seeing, and in some cases hearing the crowds reaction. When I see the dance floor full throughout the night, I know I've done my job.

DJ

Chris with Portable Playlist was fantastic. We hired him for our company picnic and he showed up early, had a quick setup and kept a great, up-beat playlist playing for the entire event. We will for sure bring him back for the next event we host. He was extremely professional and made the process of hiring a DJ seamless and easy.

DJ

Chris was an amazing DJ. He always answers emails quickly during the planning process. On our wedding day he arrived early and worked great with the staff the venue to set up for the ceremony and reception. Our ceremony spot had to move due to storms but Chris was flexible and still had everything ready on time. He did a great job keeping the party going and even announced our shoe game for us. I am very glad I choose Chris! He was great and was very affordable.

DJ

Can't say enough about Chris and Portable Playlist! He did the DJ duties for our daughter's wedding including the ceremony and the reception. From the first contact communication was outstanding. He made sure he understood everything we needed/wanted. His response was fast and all our questions were answered. The venue was a bit of a drive but he was available and ready the evening before. Professional all the way! Pricing was super reasonable and clear from the start. As an added bonus, Chris is a nice guy and easy to work with! Highly recommend!!!

DJ

We highly recommend Chris with Portable Playlist. He worked with us weeks before the reception to make sure he had all the information he needed to emcee our Wedding. He responds quickly by text and/or email, which was our preference. Everyone had a blast at our wedding, and it was largely due to the atmosphere and music. Definitely hire Chris if you're still choosing between 2 DJs. You will not regret it!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We meet, sign a Letter of Agreement, talk about/through the event, discuss the needs of both the customer and myself, then keep in contact via email or text.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

True story...My best friend of 20 yrs was getting married. He asked me to be his best man. We were talking about the reception. I asked what kind of entertainment they had booked. He said they were going to use a boom box and rotate cds throughout the night. I figured that a boom box would not be loud enough for 100-150 guests, and that they would not be able to keep up with changing cds since they would probably be crowd mingling. I offered to bring my sound system and computer, create a playlist, hook it up, hit the shuffle button, and let 'er go. Throughout the night I had guests asking me to play this song or that song. It seemed to go over pretty well. A couple months later, word had got around at my job that I had been a "DJ" at my best friend's wedding. I was then asked to "DJ" the company Christmas Party. That led to a couple more parties, a couple more weddings to you now reading my profile.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

If you think there is a question that is going to be asked by the DJ, have an answer. Many times I've asked a question to get the response, "I knew you were going to ask that, I'll get an answer for you later."
