I don't think its a stretch to say that she is the kind of person whose integrity, fairness, and work ethic is what made made America great and a great place in which to live and do business. I'm 77 and been around the block a couple of times, owned my own small business for the last 30 years, and have seen my share of small business people. Victoria is one of the very best. She does all the work herself; i.e, she is at every job for the duration of the job because she cleans the asphalt surface, puts down the sealant, paints all the margins so there is no overage of sealant on curbing or other borders, and cleans up after the job. When I used this site to ask for a quote, she was the first person to return my call - almost before I'd hung up the phone. She came the same day to give me an estimate, and did the job the next day. After meeting her and seeing her in person, I didn't bother to call any other vendors. I knew that based on her personal presence and bearing that I wanted her to do the job. Nor, did I question her quote because I've learned that very, very rarely is cheap less expensive than good. And, I'm happy to say that all my beliefs and intuitions about Victoria and her work were born out. The work is wonderfully well done. And, she is a super person. THE FIRST CONTRACTOR LEFT THE IMPRESSION THAT A LEVEL, NOR A FLOAT, WERE NECESSARY TOOLS FOR CONCRETE WORK. THE ATTEMPT BY A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR WAS LEFT ROUGHLY TWO FEET BELOW WHERE GRADE LEVEL SHOULD HAVE BEEN. AS THE HOMEOWNER, IT APPEARED THAT THE CONTRACTOR RAN OUT OF CONCRETE, AND MENTIONED PUTTING ASPHALT OVER THE UNEVEN SURFACE OF THE INCOMPLETE CONCRETE PATIO. WHEN THE ORIGINAL CONTRACTOR MENTIONED THAT THEY COMPLETED THE JOB, I HIRED HK LOTS AND LINES TO REPLACE THE PATIO THAT WASN'T COMPLETED BY THE FIRST CONTRACTOR. HK LOTS AND LINES SPENT THE FIRST DAY TEARING OUT THE SUBSTANDARD PATIO, AND LOWERING AN OLD SEPTIC CONNECTOR WHICH HAD BEEN LEFT, ROUGHLY ONE FOOT ABOVE THE UNEVEN CONCRETE. HK LOTS AND LINES SEALED THE UNUSED LINE THAT WAS A PART OF A DEFUNCT FINGER SYSTEM BELOW THE GRADE OF THE NEW LEVEL THAT MET WITH THE LEVEL OF AN EXISTING PAD THAT HK LOTS AND LINES BLENDED THE NEWLY POURED PATIO INTO. THE FIRST CONTRACTOR DIDN'T MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO ADD SUFFICIENT CONCRETE, NOR EXPANSION JOINTS, TO MATCH THE ORIGINAL PAD, SO THE REPLACEMENT BY HK CORRECTED THE DISCREPANCIES FLAWLESSLY.
