This is a great facility with great programs but more importantly the owners are people who truly care about you and your health and well being. They are extremely knowledgeable and will help and encourage you throughout your journey. There is no such thing as a magic pill to take to instantly become fit. You have to work out more than once and eat a balanced diet for more than a day if you want to get into shape. At the Workhorse Gym you will get sound (and certified) nutritional advice, workout advice, instruction on how to properly and safely use resistance training to really up your fat burning game, and the best darn cheerleaders ever to help motivate you when you just aren't feeling it. This is a no judgement zone and I feel perfectly comfortable pouring my lumpy, bumpy gut into spandex leggings and getting my sweat on during a cardio kickboxing class or strength training. My lumpy is going away, I'm seeing booty gains, and I can always count on Ron to see when I am about to throw in the towel and give me that last little push and voice of encouragement to make it those last 30 seconds or lift that one last heavy rep.
Sensei Galan has really helped me have better confidence with myself. The values and work ethic he has instilled in me have helped me in my everyday life. He is very professional and caring. I have seen him work with ages three and up. He teaches my five year old, eight year old, and eleven years old. He is capable of teaching anyone. He has taught me self worth, leadership, self restraint, and courage. I am a better person and continue to better myself and I could not have been on this path without my sensei.
Schedule is flexible. Brittony offers boot camp classes as well as open gym workouts. She's constantly learning new work outs as well so she can pass it along to her clients and never let things get boring. She cares about everyone 110% and it shows daily. Not only does she teach the fundamentals for Muay Thai but she encourages discipline and pushes you to reach your potential, all while enjoying the sport. Her passion for the sport exudes through her coaching. Her coaching is world class. Literally. After her return from Thailand, where she trained with some of the best coaches, she was ecstatic about teaching our class the techniques she learned. I have taken the level 1 and level 2 classes with Marita. I have learned numerous techniques to fight off an attacker. I was able to practice the techniques on an "attacker" and learned that I can do it. It was fun and educational. I would highly recommend the classes to any female but especially for girls in high school or college.
Dr. Ling is extremely dedicated to sharing his vast knowledge of Martial Arts. Whether it be in Tai Chi, Aikido, Karate, weapons , grappling, holds, and other areas, he always appears professional and engaged to help his student grow to the next level. He is able to teach young children, teenagers, adults and seniors by adapting his methods to the different audiences more specifically, to their individual capabilities and capacity. I have had the opportunity to take a few of jacks classes and really enjoyed learning how to best use my body to defend myself. Jack is great about making everyone feel at ease and comfortable in this learning environment. He is very passionate about empowering women to defend and protect themselves. I would highly recommend Jack and his self defense classes. I intend to take a few more of them myself to better protect and defend myself.
