Introduction: My classes are very small...no more than 4 students. We have lots of one-on-one instruction and students have chances to bring work in from home for a critique. I teach lasting principles of painting that students can use for all their future work. I love it when a student who has never painted...learns to paint...enters shows and wins awards!! This happens frequently with my students!! For me, it is better than when I win!

I am a musician, turning to the painting art late in life. I have tried several times to learn by myself & with some instruction, but when I started classes with Susie, I find great progress in my knowledge & techniques. A long way to go, but enjoying the process!

Classes taught by Susie Burns offer a foundation for grasping the fundamentals of the Impressionistic style of painting and provide the student with a framework in which to develop his/her skill. Susie takes each student from his/her ability level and encourages understanding and growth through individual assessment and critique. Not only are the classes informative, but they are a lot of fun, as well!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Five week course meets 1x per week for 3 hours. $250, payable at enrollment. Further classes are $20 each
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet at my studio and discuss the student's goals and desires. I work with all students, from total beginners to experienced painters. The student fills out an enrollment form and receives a supply list.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Art degree from Ball State University, 15 years private teaching experience. Success at juried art shows in the area.
