FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently graduated from Ball State University with a certificate in Journalism graphic design, and I continue to stay active in the field with freelance work and reading graphic design textbooks in my free time.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally wanted to publish books, as I had grown up loving them. And I didn't know it, but I've always been fond of typography as well. When I got to college I was exposed to web design and realized that part of my love of books was a love of design, and I wanted to design and edit books. Through design classes and extracurriculars I was exposed to other kinds of design, like infographics, illustrations, logos, and promotional design, and each type of design informs others.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work mostly in print design, ranging from books and magazines to promotional flyers to t-shirts. I also create logos and other brand identity products. I create information graphics, including illustrations and even interactive graphics for online display. And I have experience with web design and app creation.
