I am a soon to be graduate of Notre Dame Law School who hired Dover Entertainment to DJ my large wedding reception. To get straight to the point--I could not have asked for a better DJ for my wedding. Our DJ, Limbi Makono, had to please a very diverse audience. Unlike at most weddings, my wife and I had a large contingent of guests in their early to mid twenties--about 1/3 of the guests (~70) were our law school classmates. Limbi made sure to play the latest music and feel out what the young crowd, which lead most of the dancing, wanted. That said, he had a great feel for when and how to work in music that fit the older guests' tastes. Additionally, our families are diverse with diverse tastes. I am bi-racial (black and Filipino) and from southern California while my wife is white and has lived for significant periods in ten different states. Limbi brought a broad understanding of various genres that came in handy when discussing the specific music we wanted. Best of all, he was eager to learn about music he was unfamiliar with. For example, the creole part of my family wanted to have a second line. Although Limbi was unfamiliar with second lines and the accompanying music, he asked questions and did research. The second line ended up being one of the highlights of the reception. Speaking of flow, Limbi did a great job of knowing how much (or how little) of a song to play. To clarify, as a law student I have attended six dances with six different local, Michiana DJs as part of Notre Dame events. All of them tended to play just about every song in its entirety. Limbi did a great job feeling out when to move to a new song, which kept the energy up for the entire reception. (Our reception lasted from 4:30 p.m. to almost midnight. The dancing never stopped and many guests even went to an impromptu afterparty at The Backer.) Finally, a quick word about Limbi's professionalism. He responded to emails/texts punctually and adapted his schedule to make setting up meetings very easy. During and after the reception, guest after guest complimented his friendliness especially when people made requests. Most telling of all, he stayed behind and offered to help clean up the reception venue well after his scheduled/paid time was over. Hire Dover Entertainment! You will be glad you did.

Limbi was very professional and nice. He played a good variety of music and accommodated my request list. He was able to get the party going and get people to dance. I would recommend him for any party or event.

I couldn't imagine anyone else doing my wedding reception. When I say, "everything was perfect"--- I literally mean everything was perfect. Limbi is very personable and easy to work with. He was incredible at going with the flow and reading the crowd to keep the dancing going. He has his own set up and equipment and everything was very obviously high quality and professional grade. We gave him a list of songs we liked and he was able to use that list and build a perfect night of music around it. When it was time to eat, the mood was right. When it was time to dance, everyone was out of their chair. He was extremely flexible and easily able to pick up on the mood of the crowd-- which I think is one of the most important qualities a DJ could have. However, more than just showing up to "work"-- Limbi met with us several times before the reception, he came to our rehearsal dinner to meet everyone, he gave me (the bride) a gift before the wedding (which is totally not expected, but it was so thoughtful!), and he stayed late at The Brick to help with cleaning up the tables and chairs. Limbi goes above and beyond in every single way to make you feel special. He is more than someone that plays music for your occasion... He is a friend that genuinely makes the effort to ensure that your special day is perfect. Trust me. No questions about it. I would hire him again for any event we do in the future. We loved working with him!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After initial contact, I make it a must to meet with them in person. This let's me get to know them and vice versa. We can then talk about their project in detail.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been DJing for over 8 years, 2 of which I was the Resident Dj at Sky Michiana, a local nightclub in Mishawaka, IN
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have had a love for music since childhood. Started out with Music Production and Music Engineering, and Djing just seemed to be the next progressive step.
