FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I strive to attend trainer certification courses every year. I also try to attend general knowledge enhancement courses under various subject-matter experts in the field of self-defense, personal safety, crime prevention, firearms training, security procedures, and the like. A good instructor can never get enough knowledge or training. I currently hold black belts in half a dozen martial arts as well as instructor certifications in over a dozen person safety, self-defense, and crime prevention programs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a youth I was picked on and bullied. In my early teens I was assaulted at knife-point. The only thing that kept me from being seriously injured or killed was the fact that the attacker chose not to harm me with the knife. It was after that incident that I decided I needed to learn how to protect myself not only from bullies but from other forms of violence. I spent years studying and training. I gained numerous martial arts black belts as well as numerous instructor certifications. Eventually that passion for keeping myself safe turned into a passion for helping others learn how to keep themselves safe.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide on-site self-defense, crime prevention, and personal safety seminars for groups and corporations of various sizes.
