- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate Degree in Accounting, Associate in Office Administration, a technical certificate in accounting, bookkeeping certificate, fundamental payroll certificate, and four Microsoft Certifications. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) I’ve been doing tax returns for twent years, and bookkeeping/Accounying/Payroll for twelve years. I’ve also owned or still own some of three businesses. Two are still in operation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing tax returns while still in high school working with self employed and W2 employed individuals. I began accounting work in 2008 at a very small company where I also had other duties. I finally went back to school and completed my education in 2016 and 2017.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Individual taxes and of course, bookkeeping for a small business that offers a challenge. Bookkeeping is ongoing but most individual returns take anywhere from thirty minutes to a couple hours.
