First Class is a lawn, yard, and home care service company designed to help you get jobs done around your home to free up your time and schedule. Formerly First Class Lawns and Ricks Lawn Services, it is a part-time summer business run by Tony, who has been a full-time educator since 2011.
Beginning in 2015, Tony began doing summer lawn care services in North Alabama while not teaching full-time. He enjoyed this work, and also found occasional work in assembling pre-designed structures such as gazebos and children's play sets (See images/reviews).
In 2021, Tony relocated to West Lafayette, Indiana for a job to teach Professional Writing at Purdue. As he did in Alabama, Tony is interested in connecting with people in his new home in Indiana and finding out how he can be of service to his neighbors.

Tony and his help came out to assembly a 12' X 14' Screen house that I had purchased from Costco. They arrived on time and Tony was very courteous. The job took a little longer than estimated, but Tony came back the next morning to finish the job. He honored is initial quote, but was willing to give him some extra since it was a big job that I was not willing to do myself. We are very happy with the way the screen house turned out. Tony was outstanding. I would highly recommend.

Tony was very friendly and easy to work with. Him and his daughter worked hard and were very thoughtful on making the swing set safe. My little girl didn't ene know they were there which was a big help in keeping it a surprise. I would recommend and use his service again.

I contacted First Class Lawns an approximately 8:00 am. He stated that he would arrive at 10:00 am the same morning. He arrived at exactly 10:00. He worked for approximately three hours and charged what he quoted. It worked very well.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, my standard lawn care pricing begins at $39 per service based on the yard size and the scope of work. For example, a small lot with no fence and no driveway might run $39. Many residential properties that I mow fall between $39 and $59 per service, and that includes mowing, weedeating, and edging. If properties are larger than an acre, or require a large amount of "trim work," prices typically run higher than $59 per service.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I will schedule a visit to view the property and meet the homeowner within 2-3 days after being contacted. Upon meeting, I find out what work is needed and how often services are required (every week, every 2 weeks, etc). I provide a quote, and then schedule the first date for lawn services.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked with a lawn company that was responsible for maintaining commercial lawns. I have also been running my own part-time lawn business--and servicing residential properties--since 2015.
