FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally, I charge $35 an hour for editing or proofreading, but that price is flexible depending on the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have worked with three customers from Thumbtack so far, to edit a book, a dissertation, and a script. Prior to that I have edited a couple of books, written a jacket narrative, and reviewed or written various articles and stories. I have a long-term contract with one professional to help with his typing, editing, and research. Generally speaking, I will ask what your project requires and see if I can be of service. I will give you an estimate and a proposed timeline.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in journalism, and master's degrees in library science and public health. I have the equivalent of a master's degree in counseling psychology. I am the author of one book, A Rose in Stained Glass, and am working on another. I have published various poems, articles, and commentary, and I reviewed books for the Library Journal for many years.
