I've seen other belly dancers; and she has been the best one. Other belly dancers seem to all be similar; but not her. Her dancing is unique and beautiful. It seems like her dancing comes from within. She involves the audience and they happily participate. She is awesome!
Gonzo is a fabulous teacher! He is patient, kind, and professional. His close attention to detail and friendly approach make it fun and easy to learn. In just a few lessons, Gonzo has transformed us from inexperienced, clumsy dancers, into confident, graceful partners who are looking forward to showing off our new moves during the first dance on our wedding day. I would definitely recommend anyone to work with Gonzo, he's just great!
Razilee performed for a 50th birthday surprise party and she was amazing! She arrived 15 minutes early to set up, she was ready to go on time and danced an extra song upon request - and her dancing was beautiful!! She had the the birthday girl dancing along with her parents and several guests. She even took the time afterwards to show some little girls a cute move! We'd love to have her back!
I have been looking for a place to learn more about salsa and bachata steps. First, I went to a Herndon place for dancing classes and I was dissatisfied with the quality of instruction, the attention from the staff, and the fact that they wanted to talk first about money; besides, the first lesson I took, I felt I learned nothing. Then, I went to the Crown Dance Studio for my first free class. I was impressed by the instructor, Abraham Sannoh, he was friendly and encouraging, very professional. He danced with me first, taught me about the position of body, hands, feet, movement’s techniques, so many things! I was amazed! Totally different from what I “knew” or have learned before. After long time dancing, he checked out first what my level was, then we sat down, he informed me about what I needed to learn next, he asked about me, my interest in dancing, what I wanted to learn, etc. he also gave me recommendations and gave me different options to pay for the classes. I felt he really care about me and about my personal dancing goals. At the end, I found out I got almost the double of everything I was offered in the other place, more one to one classes, more group classes and more parties, a better deal compared to the other place! For a much lower price! I will take now my third class today, and I am thinking about extending the dancing classes since I now want to learn how to dance swing and tango! So far, so good! This place is great! Excellent flooring, excellent location, excellent professional instructors… I highly recommend Crown Dance Studio.
Asala was amazing! We had her come to entertain our wedding guests and she was an absolute hit! Everyone was taking pictures with her and dancing with her. She looked like she was having a great time too! Her belly dance routine is both very tasteful and great for audience participation. Working with her as a vendor was great. I hired her on Thumbtack in August of 2016 for my wedding which would be about a year later (May 2017). She was very courteous and helpful over the phone and has lots of sample photos and video media to share. She let us customize everything: the order of her routine, the music selection, her costume and props, and she even helped combine her performance in with the groomsmen dance performance. Asala's service was quite affordable and fair too. So all in all, she was an absolute delight to work with and she is someone I can highly recommend with great confidence. Thank you Asala!!
The brilliance of Judicita as a wedding choreographer and dance teacher is best conveyed by my husband, Andrew: I am a man who is terrified of dancing. In six weeks, Judicita took my dancing from "baby giraffe immediately after birth" to, as our wedding guests commented, "surprisingly not terrible" and "actually kind of really impressive." I did not want to jump out of a window at any point in the teaching process. Judicita was professional, empathetic, and effective both as a teacher and a choreographer. I am extremely happy with the services she provided and would recommend her in a heartbeat. I proposed to a woman of Puerto Rican/Peruvian background. She lives to dance. I was informed, lovingly and with zero wiggle room, that our first dance at the wedding would involve me doing salsa. Growing up, the blackest nightmares I ever had involved me trying and failing to dancing in front of all of my friends and family. So, choking down the terror, my then-fiancée and I contracted with Judicita to teach us (i.e. me) a choreographed 3-4 minute salsa dance. Judicita is--and I cannot stress this enough--extremely good a teaching. She has all of the normal, fundamental dance instructor skills: she's a talented dancer herself, she's very good at motion analysis and mechanics, and she's able to define and adjust choreography on the fly. But where she truly excels is her raw ability to teach. Rather than the familiar and irritating "Do this. No, like this. Point your toe more. No, like THIS. Watch me AGAIN" style of fussy instruction you get at many salsa rooms, Judicita is genuinely and patiently focused on teaching you to move. "That was great!" says Judicita with what feels like genuine excitement. "If you hold your chin a little higher the spin will be tighter, but you've really got the basic motion down!". She continually explained the "why" behind the motions, and let us learn at our own pace without getting hung up on perfection. We learned exactly what we needed for our dance. More importantly, I didn't feel like I was going to throw up from stress during lessons. I could list out many other positives: her quick and precise decisions on choreography--always listening closely to what we liked and didn't like; her flexibility in dealing with our schedule; her constant positivity and professionalism. In the end, we successfully pulled of an amazing first dance that was exactly what my bride wanted. Was I actually a born dancer? An unpolished diamond in the rough whose amazing skills were simply waiting to be discovered? A modern-day Patrick Swayze, if you will? This is what I'll keep telling myself. But the truth is, the only reason I walked out onto the floor excited, confident, and prepared, instead of nauseous and terrified, is because Judicita guided me there every step of the way. She should be teaching movie stars and professional competition dancers, instead of awkward dudes hoping to impress their partners. But thank God she does.
Performed a Luau event for a high end yacht club, have used Ohana two years in a row and will be using them a third. Great performance and interaction with guests.
I was amazing! Forever Dancing Ballroom is like a partner dance sanctuary, and Fabio has so much knowledge in dance... I have taken private lessons before, but it does not compare. I have just bought 10 more lessons and I am looking forward to them. I feel inspired, empowered and motivated. I am also planning on attending some of their group classes and parties. The studio is clean, spacious, charming and unique. Parking was easy and free. The staff is courteous and the instructors look like “ dancing with the stars” professional dancers. I saw some very beginner students (wedding couples learning) and some very advanced (at least they look like that for me) and they all look very happy. Fabio magically solved (at the first 10 minutes of the lesson) some issues that I have been having with my dance since I started a couple of years ago. I wish I had started my first lesson with him.
Graceful she is, as she sashays the strength of her flexibility across any stage. Loving the fact that belly dancing is an art of the body I enjoyed seeing Latasha flow with nature as she pulls you into another time zone. Because of love and dedication she has to the art of bellydancing, it will be worth your while to support her and start to experience a piece of heaven.
I've been taking ballroom dance lessons from Phil for over a year now. His lessons are full of great dance instruction, homework suggestions to improve in areas such as form and flexibility, and a few good jokes and laughs! He is very professional but also makes dance a fun experience. I highly recommend beginners and experienced dancers alike to take lessons from him!
We have been Raymond's students for over 8 years. Not only is he a fantastic dancer himself but he is also an outstanding instructor for all levels. From beginner to advanced, he tailors his teaching methods to what works the best for each individual student. Whether your goal is a dance competition or an evening out, you will not be disappointed.
I am a classically trained dancer of 16 years. My main focus was ballet, modern, jazz and character dance. I was coached by the world renowned Alexander Boitsov and I participated in multiple master classes taught my some of the world's best dance instructors. I am also well versed in burlesque, hip hop, and Latin dance. I have a lot of experience and knowledge about dance to bring to the table and I want to help anyone who is opening to learning something new!
I recently held a public event to expose the community to the Arab culture and wanted to incorporate belly dancing into the experience. Leyla's show was a perfect fit for my party and the audience LOVED her! The way she engaged the crowd and made them participants in the performance was just phenomenal. Should I get the chance to host another event like this one, I'd hire her all over again. :) Thanks, Leyla! - Aubrey M.

Ninakshi Dance studio is run by a young, energetic dance instructor, Nina. She is full of positive energy and has the right motivationt to teach anyone how to do a Bollywood dance. She takes the time to break down every single step so it honestly doesn't matter your experience level. She is great with young students as well as older, there is no skill requirement, or age limit! She endorses a team spirit and instills in each of her students the ability to master the dance skill. The studio itself is well kept and a great location in Silver Spring, MD! Very close to many shopping centers and is easily accessible. I have seen many of Ninakshi's performances and they are all exciting and full of energy; from their dance steps and tricks, to their costumes and props, Ninakshi dance studio definitely puts on a show!
Alina is a fantastic instructor and an all-around awesome human being. Around six weeks before our wedding, my husband and I decided that just swaying back and forth was probably not going to cut it for our first dance. Fortunately, we found Alina, who not only made us feel more comfortable being front-and-center on the dance floor—but made us fall in love with dancing in general! We were open to doing something different for our medium-paced song, and Alina went for it; designing dynamic choreography on the fly with multiple styles mixed in. Throughout our sessions, she was patient, fun, and flexible, quickly changing steps that tripped us up or added any unnecessary stress. By the sixth and final lesson, we had the full dance down and were excited to show off at the wedding! Needless to say, our guests loved it. Looking back on it, the best part of our dance was that perfectly captured our personality as a couple. Alina picked up on our energy and designed a beautiful dance to complement it. We enjoyed the experience so much, that we're continuing to take lessons! If you're looking for a fantastic instructor who's completely committed to her students, Alina is your girl.
She was amazing! She was on time and It was soo much fun dancing with her! And she has a very nice personality and positive energy!
I sing and perform with a guitar and keyboard. I dance as well. I am able to draw portraits on the spot.
I've been going to Erica's class for a little over a year, and I still can't seem to get enough! Erica brings us classic Dancehall moves, mixed with all the hot new styles, all while working up a nice sweat! I always feel like I get a full body work out, and if I take classes regularly I feel my endurance and stamina increase dramatically. Erica is warm and welcoming, always inviting people of any skill level to join her classes. She is so receptive of all the different levels that often she'll break down the moves until people really get them, or have alternative moves in the routine that you can adjust to your comfort level. In her class it's all about bringing what you've got, and being proud of it! She always says to "Show up, and show out!" reminding us that we each have a unique style, something to be proud of. She helps everyone leave their mark on the Dance floor, in the true spirit of the Dancehall style. The best improvement would be longer classes, so she could teach us more! It always seems like the end of class comes too soon, once we really get the ball rolling. Can't wait to see her take over more of the DMV, her class is so unique, and reasonably priced, everyone should be taking it!
