Things to know before you get started.
5 Oven and Stove Fixes for a Pro
  1. 1. Burners aren't lighting

Although sometimes all the burners require to start working again is a quick cleaning, if you've done that and they still won't light on your gas stove, it's time to call in a pro.

  2. 2. The oven won't heat

Some ovens use fuses to heat up. These delicate components require expert handling. You may also need to relight your oven's pilot. If you're unsure how to do this, call a pro.

  3. 3. Electric burners won't heat

Try a working burner in the stove socket of the burner that isn't working. If it still doesn't work, it's likely that the repairs necessitate a stove pro.

  4. 4. You can't adjust the heat

If your electric stove's burner comes on but stays at the same heat level, discontinue using this burner and call for backup from an expert. It's likely that the burner's ignition switch is faulty.

  5. 5. Noisy burner flame

If you turn your gas burner on and hear a loud hissing or soft roaring type of noise, your stove may be letting too much gas through. You should stop using the appliance and call a pro.
