"I am a professional sign language interpreter based in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I have been interpreting and teaching American Sign Language for over 20 years. I am a Gallaudet University graduate with an Associate of Arts degree in interpreting and a former professor at Mt. St. Joseph College where I taught ASL for 18 years.
My passion has become helping students of all ages make their way into the field of interpreting by providing that first and most critical step towards becoming an interpreter. By setting a firm foundation of sign language vocabulary along with confidence building and having great fun while learning, students begin what can be their lifelong career in interpreting or other jobs in the field of deafness.
I remember how difficult it was for me to find a qualified mentor to help me get on the right path to becoming an interpreter, my dream from the age of 10 years old, and I know it is still quite difficult today. With such a great need for interpreters and with my knowledge, training and experience, I am now greatly passionate about helping you begin your journey into the field that you have always dreamed about. You are only one step away from making that dream become a reality.
I look forward to hearing from you and scheduling your very first, formal but fun, sign language lesson! You will be signing away sooner than you ever thought possible, guided by someone who was once in your shoes and is ready to pay it forward."
