FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices start at $275 and I base the increases on square footage and if additional structures are to be inspected. One example might be for a 3,500 square foot home with a detached shop building; $275 base cost plus $50 for being over 3,000 square feet and $50 for the additional shop building; total cost $375. I can always give you a quote over the phone if you have some special circumstances.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of ASHI and NACHI, as well as IAEI. I take and complete on line training from each of the home inspector associations and attend classroom continuing education on electrical through IAEI. I also receive several magazines and e-newsletters on all of these subjects.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After doing municipal building inspection work and having the experience in electrical it seemed like a good choice for a business. I came behind many new homeowners that were having to do work because the home inspector didn't catch something pretty obvious. I knew I could bring something more to the table and was in a position to do so.
