Thank you so much! I love my Greater Kansas City clients because they are too cool and we can meet at Starbucks or Panera! I wish you the very best! It is my pleasure to provide the best customer service to my clients all of the time.
Tina was quick to respond, but I wasn't that impressed with the resume she crafted for me. I did like that she gave me a fresh format, but I was asked to proof the document for typos, and found quite a few. Additionally, I ended up rearranging and rewording significant portions of the document because it was very redundant and didn't flow. Overall, I wasn't impressed and regret paying for this service. I should have just looked at some online template and asked from friends to look it over for me.Apr 3, 2019VerifiedWW&S Dr. Tina Medina High Quality Author/Writer's reply
Thanks Amanda! I appreciate your honesty and wish you the very best. I edited the document and informed you that the first draft is just that....a first draft and the editing process takes time. You are totally entitled to your opinion and have stated your review. Thank you so much and your response is appreciated as it allows me to share some tips with others. What I have learned is that this review gives me the opportunity to take a somewhat mixed review and make it a teachable moment to help people! We are taking a couple of lemons and making lemonade! This is what I chose to do! Dear Potential Thumbtack clients: I usually do not respond to the any form of negativity regarding my reviews unless there is a broader lesson for everyone and this is one of those moments. This is one of those Dr. Tina Medina's Motivational and Educational Moments that I can share some practical tips for everyone for free: When I review a resume, I am going to be completely honest with you because that is my role as a professional resume writer and career consultant. Honesty is my only policy. If there is the use of color or the font is too small to read, I am mandated to tell you the truth because I care about your potential to get the best formal document (resume) to your future employer. My philosophy is simple: You win-I win- The employer wins- America wins! We are part of the American work force market process and team whether you realize it or not! Now here is the free advice: The use of any color in a resume is still a no-go and it (the resume) may end up in the trash. Why? A resume is still considered a formal document. In some circles of HR professionals, the use of colors, pictures, or videos was never really accepted in the last 25 years. I think its best to stick with the traditional of a black and white document, so the risk of your resume getting placed in the trash off the bat is eliminated. A 12 point font is the norm for readability. The use of a 10 or 11 point font is simply just to small. There is a huge difference between a chronological resume and a functional resume. One is more traditional and that is the chronological resume and a functional resume is used in special circumstances like returning back to the work force from the Armed Forces. These two documents can be very complimentary to you, yet the style is very different. I hope you appreciated these free tips and wish you the best in your employment search. We continue to strive to provide excellent customer service and great writing. All of my clients are encouraged to tell us directly if there is an issue as we have a no-push back policy. We do not mind rewriting anything at all because we care about you having the best document possible for that win-win momentum to happen. Thank you so much and have a great day! - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? It is very simple: I want to offer you the best service at a great rate! My reviews speak for themselves as integrity and complete follow-through is the name of the game. I finish what I start and have for 35 years because I care about my clients. Time, dedication, listening, and highlighting your talents takes effort, skills, and sincerity therefore, I do not rush this process. You are getting the best service and a quality writer with me. I may be a bit more expensive than my competitors, but the results will be great. RESUMES Prices can fluctuate depending on the demand or pace of business on Thumback $140.00 for a basic one page resume with cover letter. Resume prices increase based on number of pages and amount of writing. Please visit my website for more details. I really need to see the document to give an adequate and fair bid. I do require 50% down via Paypal, Venmo, or a credit card to get started and there are no exceptions. The remaining 50% can be paid when I am finished with the document. I ensure that you are 100% happy with the documents before you pay the final payment. EDITING The price for editing is $40.00 an hour and again, I need to see the project for an accurate bid. I do require 50% down to get started and the remaining 50% when I am finished with the document. BOOK PROJECTS Editing, layout, covers, refining, getting copyright, ISBN, and taking a book to market is generally about $1,500 depending on the project and the time involved. I have five books of the market myself so I can make this happen for you as well. We can do this together!!! PLANS Marketing and Public Relations Plans can range from $700 to $3000 depending on the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to talk to the client to establish an immediate rapport and to build trust. I like to see an existing resume or at least some basic information, but if you do not have anything at all, I can take notes. I like to listen to a client's need and get an idea of what they are looking for in a resume. Constant communication is a huge deal with me because resume writing is truly a process that is very important. I am very friendly and easy to get along with at all times and I am very flexible as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have six degrees from excellent education institutions in the Midwest and Florida. I am also certified by the State of Kansas in Workforce Development and have written resumes for the last 25 years. I am a former radio and television producer and talent. I have worked for Fox Four in Kansas City and Breakthrough Television on TBN. Excellent writing is very rare these days and it is a lost art, therefore I will give you my very best because quality is the name of the game. Listening to you and providing solid work with exceptional customer service are my goals.
