He does a great job with my kids. He is presently teaching drums, guitar and bass guitar. As soon as they learn the basics on an instrument he uses another instrument to play and sing songs with them! They love it!

I had always wanted to learn to play the saxophone. But, had a very hard time finding a teacher. Somehow, I found John Childers I took lessons from this wonderful, fun, generous, and above all PATIENT man. I felt truly and absolutely that he played (pun intended) a huge part in turning my life around. You see, I've had medical issues that included 5 strokes. With nothing short of a LONG & miraculous physical recovery, John not only helped my body get stronger, more importantly, he helped heal the emotional damage done by years of strokes & therapy. He helped me feel human again. He helped me find the pure joy that only comes from music. I will surely love and be indebted to this man for the rest of my life. I was VERY sad to be forced to take a break from his classes. But, I WILL get back there if he can stand trying to re-teach sax to a woman with a weak left arm again!! I know he can and would because of that patience I mentioned. I am working to be as patient with myself as he was with me! He is a wonderful musician, himself. Everyone should at least get the opportunity to hear him play! And then, for him to be able to bring his vast talent WAY down to my level takes a special kind of person. I know I would not have that patience, that gift.... He does!!!

I just want to say THANK YOU! again for putting on an amazing show at our wedding. We had so many people coming up to us at the wedding to say it was “the best reception ever.” and “the wedding of the decade.” I know that was all because of the job you did. I have never seen a dance floor that full for every single song. Even friends that don’t dance were out dancing.

Dell did a fantastic job at our Mother/Son dance! We had boys of all ages and he played the perfect variety of music for them as well as some songs our moms enjoyed. He was very entertaining and he seemed to be having as much fun as we were! We will definitely be using his services again and telling our friends about him!

Josh played at our wedding reception and did an amazing job. Everyone from the guests, the wedding planner and the photographer had something positive to say. The wedding planner said this was the wedding with the most dancing she had ever seen. The photographer said this was the coolest dance party she had ever seen. Actually she said "wildest" but I think she got a little carried away there. We asked Josh to do a short dance lesson at the beginning of the reception, which turned out to be a big hit and got everyone out on the dance floor. From there, he kept the music going all night and our guests danced until it was time to leave. He played the perfect mix for us and our guests. We heard everything from great salsa hits to the YMCA song. We can't wait to renew our vows so we can have Josh DJ that reception too!

    About

The Rhythmia, an acoustic string band, performs a blend of authentic ragtime (mainly written and published within Kansas City where the band is situated), Caribbean music, and old-time fiddle tunes, together with original compositions, to form various old-time folk dance music. Over a hundred years ago, ragtime was the original favorite music in America. While considered mainly as piano solo music today, ragtime was usually played during the late nineteenth as well as early twentieth centuries by string bands consisting of banjos, mandolins, violins and guitars. The Rhythmia is keeping this ragtime string band tradition alive. Also, they explore the Latin and Creole music of Louisiana and the Caribbean from the same time period due to the many similarities to ragtime. The Rhythmia's concerts include brief historical information on the tunes as well as biographical information on the composers. The individual members of The Rhythmia have over 35 years of experience in performing at a lot of folk music and ragtime festivals all over the country.
