FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Fees are either per hour or fixed cost quote. Pricing is based on $30 per hour for each project. Shipping costs depend on the need to add expedited overnight service to meet deadlines or the ability to use standard rates. I work from a retainer deposit of 75% of the estimated cost of the completed project. Additional funds earned are due before the final work is shipped at the return.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An agreement is made for project work, cost, and timeline. The customer makes a deposit/retainer to Main Street Galleria account on Thumbtack or as mutually agreed upon. Any special papers and text materials are delivered to me in good form. I begin the artwork as agreed upon and on completion, notify the customer of the remaining fees due (if any) and shipment to be made.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a psychologist (PsyD) I strive to capture the emotion and relationships in the aesthetics of art. Over the years, I have studied traditional art forms, concentrating on Scandinavian folk art and European-style Nyon porcelain painting. I studied with and among nationally accomplished artists in these fields. Calligraphy is a natural extension of the "S" and "C" strokes basic to the rosemaling-style folk art. In 2002 I opened and hosted nationally known artists and students for the Heartland Porcelain Art School and have maintained contacts for continuing education and appreciation of arts.
