I can't say enough good things about Kris and Canine Moxy! My husband and I rescued a German Shepherd mix from the middle of nowhere and have fallen head over heels for her over the past year. Despite the fact that she is the sweetest dog to us, we couldn't seem to shake her fear and "aggressive" behavior towards other dogs. When Kris arrived for her two-hour consultation I was immediately impressed - not only is he a trainer, but he is an animal behaviorist and was able to read things like her posture and reactivity to stressful scenarios. We chose to send our dog to a week long training with Kris at his house, and saw HUGE results. His analysis was that she was actually a feral dog and hadn't learned how to socialize with other animals at all before being rescued. He was great about sending updates and pictures while she was away, which made the experience much less stressful on her overprotective parents! Since working with Kris, our dog has transformed from a dog that would enter into extreme panic mode when passing another dog on a walk to being able to go to a dog park and have positive interactions with other dogs. Hiring Kris was the best decision we have ever made, and we plan to continue working with him!!

Kris is awesome! I would highly recommend him to anyone. I got my dog, Apollo, almost a year ago at the age of a year and a half. He was the easiest dog at the beginning, did everything I asked. A few months ago, Apollo, started to challenge me on everything, going on walks became impossible because he was so hyper. Then he became aggressive or at least I thought he was. When we'd walk, he'd try to attack any walker, biker, or runner that came near me. He started to growl and act like he was going to attack anyone that would come into my house. It got to the point, I was about to take him back to the pet shelter I got him at. I was terrified he'd bite someone and then he'd be put down. I was pretty against professional dog training, as I've heard horror stories from friends of spending a large sum of money with no results. After a very close encounter of Apollo almost biting a girl renting a room in my house for the weekend, I gave in and thats when I met Kris. Kris came to my house for a free two hour evaluation with Apollo, in which he got to know Apollo, I told him about the struggles, and then we went on a walk. Kris showed me several training techniques even during the elevation. He cares far more about helping your dog and you build a stronger relationship, in which both parties are happier, than just getting his money for the training. Kris is very passionate about what he does, which helps create a fun, exciting, training environment. I have never felt stupid for not knowing how to handle my own dog, or for asking questions, even if I had to ask the same one several times. Kris doesn't just take your dog and train him, he involves you, the owner, a great deal. This helps me a lot, because I didn’t know anything about how to train a dog before this. Kris will give me pointers, or explain why Apollo is acting a certain way when I do something. I feel very lucky that I have a dog trainer who is not only patient with Apollo, but so amazing at training me on how to train my dog. Kris is truly amazing at what he does, and seeing his connection with animals is extraordinary. I’m telling you, if you want to see immediate improvements hire Kris. I highly recommend not waiting to contact him, with his results his services will be in high demand soon. Thank you Kris, I can’t tell you how much it means to me that Apollo is such an obedient, loving dog now, our relationship/connection is so strong, it’s incredible.

Kris did about a week and a half long board & train for my two [rescue] mini-poodles - both from very different backgrounds with totally different levels of training, motivation & even allergies. Take full advantage of his 2 hour consultation because Kris gets results FAST. I was sold after the first hour and had no idea how much progress could be made in such short time. When we returned from our trip abroad (during which Kris was happy to provide updates), Kris spent 2 hours in our home/at the park demonstrating what the dogs had learned and how to continue re-enforcing & building on these behaviors. Additionally, he provided a write up of how his training system works to ensure we fully understood how to stay on track with the dogs. He provides constructive criticism for the owners' interactions as well - which is super helpful since it's easy to accidently re-enforce the wrong behavior. We had one dog that incessantly barked - doesn't anymore. And one who was miserable on a leash - she's perfect now. I am excited to continue our work with Kris and see how far our poodles can get!

Kris has done amazing work with our dog. Honey has been people and dog aggressive since she was 9 months old. Kris' ability to earn her trust really shows that this is what he is meant to do! I highly recommend taking him up on his free evaluation- you will see right away that his technics really work! We are seeing progress after just three sessions with him. I am hopeful that with Kris and Alex's training we can help Honey be a more relaxed happy dog;) Kris is also teaching my daughter how to gain control over her very excited red Doberman. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free video-chat consultation for new clients, as well as background questionnaires. If you refer a friend, and they buy a session, I will give you one session for free!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am available to answer any questions or concerns before our first session. During the first session, I will gather background information about you, your dog, and its behavior. After I have collected the necessary information, I will provide information about canine psychology, how dogs learn, and the training process. I will coach you through a few exercises and provide homework for you and your dog to work on until our next session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I am an AKC Instructor, Evaluator, and Judge as well as an APDT Instructor and Evaluator. I have experience with a variety of working dogs, sports, competitions, and behavior modification.
