Introduction: Many people do what I do. In fact, there are very large agencies dedicated to doing what I do. However, I like to work with start ups and small businesses who have much to offer and understand the true meaning of work ethic. I am a winner by nature and will work until you are in love with the result. I am currently on disability after breaking my back in my last career, so money is not the name of the game for me, success is. Truly what I love most about my job is the freedom it provides me to work whenever I want.I have created a home office that I share with my teenage boys, and the fact that both of them are extremely technical and going to school for what I do, keeps me on my toes and on the cutting edge of technology today. I I have never run into a snag or a "how too" question that one of my boys have not been able to answer. This is why I listed my company as having two employee's. On larger projects for medium sized business, one of my boys loves it when I hand him a piece of the project and we collaborate together to ensure the customer is going to be blown away with our solution.

Writing this review is very difficult for me as I am a person that values relationships and do not like saying negative things about anyone. However I need to let others know about my experience . Things started out well and I feel that my vision for the site was really coming together. I felt he was really working hard on my behalf. There was some issues with getting things done in a timely manner but I overlooked that as I know what its like to get busy and have multiple things going on. After getting the site up and running there was issues with the site not converting as my buy now buttons had disappeared. (This is the only way a customer can buy my product) I found this out after spending a good amount on money on advertising only to find out that the customers could not finalize a purchase. My checkout process on my site built was too long and required several steps to complete a purchase. In addition the flow was just not what I was expecting. So I began going into the site myself to make the desired changes. After spending about 15 mins or so I was able to correct the things I did not like about my site. However then the worst happened. I asked to have the hosting switched to my domain. I had not completed purchasing the hosting agreement yet on my end. I received a email asking if it was ok to remove my site from his hosting to make room for another customer I agreed. I would say about 10 mins after this email. POOF my site disappeared to never return again. www.TheFishingCaddy.com. I called Go Daddy and they informed me that my files may have been deleted. That I needed to get back with John to get back my files. That should have been sent as part of the purchase for my site. I never received those files. Hence I am spending more money to build a entirely new site! I emailed John and he said that this occurred after I switched hosting which I know is not true because at the point my site disappeared I had not even completed that process. This really bothers me as I should have had my files transferred to me immediately after our transaction was complete. Hard lesson learned I guess but I do not recommend using his services. I want to let others know about my experience so that they can make a informed decision. Overall the quality of the work was less than average and other web developers on E-lance shredded my site and had many improvements they suggested.

After looking for quite sometime to find a website developer and someone to add to my team to begin my product launch. I have decided to do business W John Bergman w Bergman Apps. This decision was based upon a few things. First the personal one on one approach he had when discussing details of the project. I wanted to work directly with the person who would be completing my project not a middle person (manager etc ). He also informed me of a few other benefits he would assist us with to optimize the site and give it the best search capabilities once it will be launched. Including building a professional FB page etc. Building a relationship and having a professional relationship with the one on one approach is important to me. Since I have other projects I will be launching after this one is done. So far working through the details and getting a understanding of what I am looking for has been as top notch as I could provide. I recommend you to use John Bergman and his services as he has the ability to bring your vision to light and grow your website as you grow as a company. Along with APP development and search optimization. Glad to have him on our team. Looking forward to posting another review upon completion of the site. How did you get started doing this type of work?
You have to love what you do and I grew up around artists, marketing professionals, and entrepreneurs so it was very natural for me to start this company. This is actually the third company I have either started myself or joined a friend to help build a company. I spent many years after college working for large corporations and while I enjoyed them at to the time, I missed the freedom before I could even really feel it. Now that I have had a taste for it, I will work as hard as I can for each and every customer in order to protect it and ensure that I can grow from each experience.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Lately, since I have moved to Kansas and gotten more involved with my American Bulldog hobby, I find myself doing a lot of banner for shows. As well, websites for pets are usually very outdated and static so I like to help hobbyists update their presence on the web by recreating their website and any marketing campaigns in existence.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Thumbtack is a great site for people to find what they are looking for. Definitely talk to more than one vendor and use your gut to decide who to go with. i am not going to chase you down if you have submitted a quote. I will create my proposal and wait to hear back.
