FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While I can give a rough estimate based on pictures, I can’t give an exact estimate that way. I need to see the job in person to physically see what I will be dealing with. My prices are $25 per man hour, plus cost of materials. All job bids are subject to change based on cost of materials and unforeseen obstacles. If a bid is changed, a change order will be submitted to the customer ASAP. No extra work will be done until the customer is notified and approves of the work. Any tree job is bid per the tree, not by an hourly rate. The formula I use is rather simple. Measure the diameter and the height, multiply the two and that’s a decent idea of what it will cost. For example, if it’s 20 inches in diameter and 30 feet tall, it’ll cost about $600. That is not exact, but it’s close. Distance from power lines, houses, barns, etc have a huge effect on the price. There will be a small disposal fee for any brush that needs to be taken care of.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet my customers face to face. Depending on what is needed, I like to do a walk around with the customer while discussing what he/she wants. After the first walk around, I can give a rough idea of what I think would be best for the area. Sometimes I walk around a second time, and take some pictures. From time to time I have to do some research to find out what would best fit the customers wants or needs. Throughout the process of completing the job, I like keeping the customer updated on what is going on.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have close to 15 years on job experience. Two of my employees have 40 years experience each.
