FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, with the new IRS program to get tax preparers into their registry they've made it an optional, and beneficial, to take the required hours of continuing education courses. There are so many that you're required to take each year and that's divided up into subject categories. I'm working on my Enrolled Agent status so I try to do as much as I can.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I earned a degree in music. So naturally, in that tiny niche job market there were no positions for an oboist. The search went on for years and finally I'd had all I could take of being a server and just started learning about bookkeeping...took a few courses at Wayne State University in accounting and the next thing ya know I've got my own business! Voilá!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Tax returns and more tax returns. Second on the list would be logo design.
