Introduction: I try to engage my students through the entire class; instead of rely on a video to teach for me. I also like to give students the bigger picture of exactly where they fit into the emergency response system and the importance of their role in a patient's long term recovery. I love the opportunity to teach. It's an amazing feeling to know that someone came willing to learn and left with the skills to save a life.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend continuing education every month and keep up to date with new studies relating to emergency cardiovascular care (ECC). I've also attended several conferences on ECC and subscribe to the Journal of Emergency Medical Services.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I work as an EMT and have for several years. I always saw myself as a public servant and enjoy being able to serve my community. But, I've also seen the outcomes of untrained or poorly trained bystanders who either refuse to give CPR or who perform CPR inadequately. I became a CPR Educator to work towards reducing those incidents.
