- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was a professional musician in James Brown’s band so I guess you can say music is in my blood. I cannot remember a time in my life that I wasn’t already singing and playing some sort of instrument. By the time I graduated high school I was certain I was meant to teach music—3.5 music degrees later and here we are! I may not have anticipated being a private voice teacher instead of a choir teacher, but it is the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done and it is my passion.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are looking to improve your singing technical ability, be sure to find a voice teacher who has been trained in vocal anatomy and physiology, and who can communicate clearly to you!
