FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I currently charge $50 per hour for remote work (editing college entrance essays, for example, which can be done exclusively through email), and $75 for in-person tutorials. However, I am open to working on a sliding scale if that price is out of range for my client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold the BA in English from the University of Florida, also an MDiv and PhD in Ethics. I have been trained in speed reading and Visualizing and Verbalizing, Nancy Bell's program for reading comprehension and writing skills.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Most students need either to refine their skills or develop strategies for success in school or on college entrance exams--but almost all of them need encouragement. Look for a tutor who connects with your student and makes him or her feel she can succeed.
