- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $70 an hour, most small dogs on a regular schedule takes me an hour. There is a matting fee if the dog had a lot of mats. I also offer $5 nail filling as an extra and deshedding treatment or medicated shampoo for $5-$20 extra depending on the size and coat of the dog.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started my career as a groomer in Las Vegas where I did an apprenticeship with a Master groomer. I then moved to Kentucky where I worked in private salons, petsmart, veterinary clinic and another mobile grooming salon. I like mobile grooming because it's a lot less stressful for the pet and you get to develop a relationship with the pet and pet parent. There are so many benefits to mobile grooming that I decided to go that route.
