I contacted a couple of cabinetry companies in the New Orleans area early this fall (20150 to obtain estimates for the building of a set of floor-to-ceiling book shelves and cabinets. Southern Cabinetry was the only one that was able to provide me with a detailed set of drawings of what they could do for me. We discussed wood types, hardware, finishes, moldings, shelf spacing and a number of other matters that were important to me. I worked with John and Myra on the estimate, which was quite reasonable, and the schedule for the installation. Communication with Southern was always clear and their replies to my calls were always prompt. (In my experience, clear communication is always one of the weakest areas of the contracting industry, and Southern, I am happy to say, is a very welcome exception.) John and his one-man crew, also a John, arrived when they said they would and put up the unit in two days. The finished product was more than I could have hoped for, and I immediately asked if they could do another job for me. I highly recommend this company and their work. They are great.

The company hasn't been in touch at all - he came by the house and looked at the job and said that he would be in touch. He also said that he would pick up some of the old California closet stuff that was in the house so we saved some for him but he hasn't been in touch at all. Oh well!

Yes we did come by and you decided that there was no room for what you wanted to build. As for the closet stuff you saved, we are not junk haulers and we shouldn't be reviewed for this type of work.

My Father was a cabinet maker, so I grew up in a cabinet and countertop shop. I always knew that I was born to design and build cabinets. I took over his shop and followed my dreams for the next 25 years.
