- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing/fees are flexible depending on the length of the program and occasionally on the size of the audience. Back of the room book/CD sales is sometimes a consideration. The majority of my engagements are 1 - 1 1/2 hours long and price is determined accordingly. I am willing to work with the customer concerning the fee to our mutual satisfaction. I will do everything in my power to make it happen. I am very "customer friendly!"
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I immediately begin developing rapport with the customer via telephone and email. I want to put the customer at ease and feel good about hiring me. I ask the customer to complete a one page PreProgram Questionnaire so I can learn as much as possible about the group or organization. I also view their website if one is available. This allows me to get the information I need to customize the program as much as possible. I also invite the customer to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns s/he may have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters' degree in Guidance & Counseling which helps me in working with people. I was a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) for 20 years. This is a professional organization for speakers. During that time I attended many national conventions which featured outstanding speakers. They shared many tips and insights into the speaking profession which helped me grow as a professional.
